Our training courses are structured and made available through the EducarDH Platform, created to strengthen human rights work. Our approach connects theory and practice through a Freirean pedagogical methodology, promoting critical understanding of national and international protection systems and encouraging continuous learning.
Through the EducarDH Platform , developed based on UNESCO's understanding of digital education, participants have access to online courses (asynchronous and synchronous) that present the fundamentals of international human rights protection systems and the basics of advocacy. The courses include dynamic and interactive materials that promote structured and accessible learning.
Through group activities and workshops available on the platform and in face-to-face training sessions, this module encourages networking and the strengthening of collective action in human rights. The exchange of experiences and collaboration in strategic spaces are central elements of this stage.
With the knowledge acquired in the previous modules, participants use the EducarDH Platform and other tools to access practical guidance on strategic advocacy in decision-making spaces. This stage includes the use of parallel reports, oral statements, and fact sheets to strengthen participation in human rights systems.
Upon completing the modules, defenders become part of the International Advocacy Network (RAI e RAIJ), a virtual and collaborative space that provides materials and guidance for international advocacy.
A fully online and asynchronous course aimed at presenting the main international mechanisms for the defense of human rights at the UN: the Human Rights Council, the Universal Periodic Review (UPR), Special Procedures, and Treaty Bodies. The training also contextualizes these mechanisms with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the 2030 Agenda.
Training aimed at young human rights defenders, focusing on the implementation of the 2030 Agenda and the SDGs in their territories.
In a compact, completely virtual, and asynchronous format, the main objective is to provide young people with access to brief theoretical and basic content on the 2030 Agenda, so that they can develop concrete advocacy skills in the territories where they live and work.
Training aimed at justice system professionals, focusing on the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) as a strategic tool for implementing human rights.
Training aimed at professionals in the justice system, with the goal of presenting the 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as tools for strengthening human rights. The course promotes the exchange of experiences and best practices and contact with strategic actors in order to support the implementation of the SDGs in everyday institutional life.
This asynchronous course is an introduction for educators who wish to incorporate human rights into their teaching practices. It presents the fundamentals of Human Rights Education (HRE) as an essential component of the right to education and highlights its main assumptions.
Course aimed at anyone interested in understanding the role of human rights in society. In a completely asynchronous format, the course presents fundamental concepts, their origin, development, and importance for community life.
Based on theoretical content, webinars, and group discussions, its main objective is to provide an overview of the international mechanisms of the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) and the 2030 Agenda (SDGs) and to present opportunities for your institution/social movement to engage internationally in these mechanisms.
Based on asynchronous materials and synchronous meetings, the course aims to introduce Agenda 2030 and Human Rights to young people. From there, participants worked in groups of three to develop proposals for implementing the SDGs.
This course aims to promote the capacity building of civil society to act in the RPU and strengthen national collectives in South America.
This course offers theoretical and practical knowledge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) agenda and its interpretation from a trans perspective, as a strategy for appropriating this mechanism.
Throughout the training program, we facilitate dialogue and collaboration between strategic actors, offering mentoring for the development of projects and materials that promote sustainable development, always based on respect for human rights. By providing an environment for debate, exchange of experiences, and challenges, our training programs also offer many defenders their first experiences in international advocacy.
The training took place gradually, allowing us to develop our knowledge on various topics, both individually and collectively. I believe the experience was transformative, and I have already sought to apply what I learned both at work and in my personal life.
The contact with experts and the development of a group project strengthened my ability to adapt global goals to local challenges, promoting a more critical and adjusted view of the 2030 Agenda.
I came to IDDH in 2007, looking for training tools for my work as a public defender. What I gained from the two editions of CADH in which I participated was the foundation for solidifying and systematizing information, as well as a compass for continuing to deepen my knowledge of international action. Because it\'s not just about theory; it\'s not just about practice. It is a space where theory and practice connect, in the Freirean sense, to provoke emancipatory praxis.
Participating in the UN and Youth training was extremely important for improving my performance and that of my colleagues at Produtora Maré Cheia. With our knowledge of the SDGs, we were able to develop an advocacy proposal focused on combating environmental and climate racism in the outskirts of Belém, which we hope to put into practice in the territories soon.
